Family household shipment being packed by a logistics company in Dubai
From single suitcases to full villa moves — personal and household shipping handled by a Dubai-based logistics team.

Not every shipment is a pallet of trade goods. A large share of the enquiries we receive come from families relocating, expats sending boxes home, and residents moving used furniture between emirates or across the GCC. As a logistics company in Dubai that handles personal effects daily, we know these moves need a gentler, more personal approach than commercial freight — and this page explains how we deliver it.

Personal shipments are a different discipline

Commercial freight moves in uniform cartons with invoices attached. A family move is the opposite: a sofa, a washing machine, a bicycle, thirty mixed boxes, and one carton of items that are irreplaceable for sentimental reasons. Handling that mix well takes wrapping materials, patient loading crews, and a coordinator who actually answers the phone.

It also takes different paperwork. Used personal effects are declared differently from new commercial goods at GCC borders, and getting that declaration right is the difference between smooth clearance and a frustrating hold at Al Batha / Al Ghuwaifat when your shipment heads to Saudi Arabia.

What we move for households and individuals

Over a typical month our teams collect from apartments in Bur Dubai, villas in Mirdif and Arabian Ranches, and staff accommodation across the industrial areas. The cargo varies enormously, but a few categories come up again and again.

  • Full home contents for families relocating to Riyadh, Jeddah, Doha, or Muscat
  • Partial moves — a bedroom set or a few appliances going to relatives
  • Boxes of clothing, books, and kitchenware shipped ahead of a job change
  • Used furniture bought second-hand in Dubai and sent across the border
  • Electronics and TVs, packed with foam and corner protection
  • Personal effects of departing expats consolidated with other households

How a household move works with us

Everything starts with a WhatsApp survey. Send photos or a short video of what needs to go, and we estimate volume without a home visit in most cases. From there we schedule collection at a time that suits you — evenings and weekends included, because most people cannot take a weekday off to supervise packers.

On collection day the crew wraps furniture in blanket and shrink film, boxes loose items if you have not already, and lists every piece on an inventory you sign. That inventory becomes the packing list for customs, so the count is checked again at delivery.

Furniture wrapping

Blankets, bubble wrap, and stretch film applied at your door before anything touches the truck.

Signed inventory

Every carton and item is numbered and listed, then verified piece by piece at destination.

Delivery inside the home

Crews carry items to the room you point at — not just to the kerb outside the building.

Sending small loads without paying for a full truck

Plenty of personal shipments are just five or ten cartons. For these we run groupage: your boxes share trailer space with other households heading the same way, and you pay only for the volume you use. Departures on busy lanes like Dubai–Riyadh run frequently, so a small load rarely waits long.

Groupage does mean your delivery date depends on the trailer schedule rather than your preference. If a fixed date matters — a tenancy ending, a flight booked — say so at enquiry stage and we will either reserve space on a specific departure or price a dedicated vehicle.

Practical tip: keep passports, jewellery, chargers, and a week of clothing out of the shipment entirely. Whatever you will need in your first days at the new home should travel with you, not in a trailer.

What shapes the price of a personal move

We quote each move individually because two three-bedroom homes can differ hugely in volume. These are the levers that matter most.

FactorWhy it matters
Volume (CBM)The main driver — furniture-heavy homes cost more than carton-only moves
Packing requiredSelf-packed cartons cost less than full professional packing
Access at both endsLift availability, floor number, and parking distance affect crew time
Destination cityA Dammam delivery differs from a Jizan delivery in mileage and schedule
SpeedDedicated vehicles cost more than shared groupage space

Timing your move across the border

Most household consignments travelling by road reach GCC destinations in 3–7 working days. Personal-effects clearance can add a beat compared with commercial cargo because customs officers sometimes inspect used goods more closely, which is exactly why the inventory we prepare is detailed and honest.

If your dates are tight, book pickup at least a week before you need the goods gone. That buffer lets us fix any document gaps — a missing ID copy, an unclear destination address — before they cost you days.

Why families choose a local Dubai team

A logistics company in Dubai with its own crews and vehicles controls the part of the move where damage usually happens: handling. We do not hand your sofa to a chain of subcontractors. The people who wrap it are our people, the coordinator tracking the trailer sits in our office, and the same WhatsApp number works from first enquiry to final delivery.

Frequently asked questions

Is delivery door-to-door or do I collect from a depot?

Household moves are door-to-door by default: we collect inside your current home and deliver inside the new one, including carrying to upper floors where access allows. Port or depot handover is available if you have your own arrangement at destination, and it reduces the price accordingly.

Can you pick up on weekends or public holidays?

Yes — weekend collections are among our busiest slots because that is when families are home. Book a few days ahead for Saturday mornings, which fill first. Trailer departures pause on some public holidays, so if your move brushes against Eid or National Day, allow an extra day or two in transit.

I only have a few boxes. Is that too small?

Not at all. Small consignments travel by groupage, sharing a trailer with other shipments on the same lane, so you pay for your volume rather than a whole vehicle. Even two or three cartons are worth sending this way — just tell us the carton count and rough weight for a quick rate.

How do booking and payment work?

Send your details by WhatsApp or the form below, approve the quote, and we schedule pickup — no lengthy contracts for personal moves. Payment is typically taken at collection by cash, card link, or bank transfer, and you receive the inventory and receipt before the truck leaves your building.

How long will my household shipment take?

Plan around 3–7 working days for road moves to most GCC cities once documents are complete. Groupage loads sit at the upper end of that window because they wait for a scheduled departure; a dedicated truck leaves when you are packed and usually lands earlier in the range.
